Oasis Airlines goes into liquidation

Oasis Airlines has gone into liquidation leaving thousands of people stranded and forced to pay for alternatives with other airlines and not get future flights they had paid for.

Other airlines including British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Air New Zealand offered special one way fares between Hong Kong and London Heathrow.

It is believed most passengers booked direct with the airline and their best hope of any kind of refund could be from their credit card company.

It looks like Oasis Airlines was a victim of the soaring fuel costs which have more than doubled since the airline first started flying.

US budget carrier Frontier Airlines has also recently filed for bankruptcy protection and it is suspected that more airlines may follow.
