FlyGlobespan loses its licence

Low cost airline FlyGlobespan has lost its ETOPS licence which is required to fly aircraft with only two engines to travel over large bodies of water. This has had an effect on some of FlyGlobespan’s transatlantic services.  FlyGlobespan have altered the flight routes and travel nearer Iceland and Greenland to enable flights to continue. FlyGlobespan are quoted as saying that the move was due to a procedural matter related to work by a sub contractor.The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said it is the first time in 15 years a UK operator has lost ETOPS approval.
